FAMILY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM – Save A Family Plan

Through Family Development Program, we assist the poor families to carryout profitable income generation programs by providing them monetary aid and technical training along with other skills.. Our capacity building programs helps the families to equip themselves with various social and economic skills, which in turn assist them towards a self-sustainable living in their community. The poor families are selected for assistance based on  transparent criteria, and will be given six consecutive years of financial support. 

OBJECTIVE

Promote women, as key participants in the social development and change by focus on the poor families and communities.

ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT:

  1. Letter to donor
  2. Monitoring of Small Business Initiatives
  3. Six Year Planning carried for the newly active partner families
  4. Preparation of Yearly Activity Plan for Small Business Initiatives
  5. Submission of Activity Completion Reports
  6. Submission of Progress Report of the families supported for 69 months
  7. Selection of New Partner Families
  8. Documentation process in DDMS software 
  9. Capacity Building Programs for partner families 

SUCCESS STORIES 

Mrs. Kasthuri, Coimbatore Papappad Business

Kasthuri is a young widow with two children. Financial support received from the FDP is invested to carry the Pappad business. She does this Pappad business as packing work initially and later started selling in retail and supplied for the shops. Started generating income to her family in sustainable manner. Income is supportive to meet the family needs and take care of the children. She is planning to start this Pappad business as her own production in her brand name in future.

Mrs. Kala Arputhamani. S – Pollachi Goat Rearing

Kala Arputhamani is living in Udumalpet cluster and doing the livestock farming as her small business initiative. She receives the financial support from FDP for the last four years and invested in purchasing the goats. Initially she bought two goats for rearing with first support and now she is having more than 13 goats. This rearing business gives her a regular income once in every six months. She is selling the goats for rearing and meat and other purposes. She is taking care of family responsibility on her shoulder by affording education to her son and encountering all the family requirements.
